Ladies, no matter how gorgeous an item of clothing is, it’s not going to suit you if it doesn’t fit you perfectly. In fact, even a below average piece of clothing can look amazing on a person if the fit is perfect. Fitting makes or break the clothes contrary to what you might believe. No item of clothing will look good on you if it’s too big or too small. Of course there’s variation in style and some clothes are supposed to look over sized while others might be styled to be tight but that’s not what we’re talking about. Our focus is on making sure you know what goes into choosing the right type of clothing for your body type. While certain magazines break body types down into shapes and whatnot, we don’t really ascribe to that practice. Every body is shaped differently and what might look good on one person won’t necessarily look good on another person who has the same exact body type. It’s all about your personal style and how you carry things off. That’s why we decided to give you some tips on dressing for your body type that you won’t get anywhere else!
Size is just a number
A lot of the time we feel we’re a certain size because we’re attracted to the number. We force ourselves into a size 2 even though it may be too small or too big on us. Don’t let yourself get caught up with the number. Sizes change from brand to brand and from one item of clothing to another so don’t let them dictate your shopping choices! Try on clothes and see if they fit. If the size is too small, don’t be afraid to go up. In fact, in most instances clothes look better and fit better if you go a size up.
Get clothes altered
Don’t you just hate when you find the perfect dress for an occasion but it doesn’t fit. Well just because it doesn’t fit in the store doesn’t mean it can’t fit at all. GO to a tailor and have it altered. A tailor can become your best friend especially if your on the petite side. Have pants, skirts, and dresses hemmed can make them look infinitely better on you! So next time don’t pass up on that dress that’s too big, have it tailored instead!
Highlight your best assets
Clothes are supposed to make you look and feel good! Instead of thinking about clothes as a way to cover your flaws think about them as a way to highlight your assets! If you’ve got long legs show them off with a perfectly tailored skirt. If you’ve got an amazing hourglass figure don’t be afraid to flaunt it in a great fitting dress. Find clothes that make you feel great and you will automatically look good!
